FALL 2004 SNAP GRANT

To the Arlington Public School Community,

The Arlington Educational Enrichment Fund, Inc., (AEEF) is pleased to present our Fall 2004 Grant cycle.  AEEF seeks to augment and enrich the education provided by the Arlington Public Schools.  Teachers, parents, and other individuals with school sponsorship are invited to apply.

THE GOALS OF THE AEEF ARE TO:

  • Augment and enrich the education provided by our schools by funding inventive and new programs;
  • Encourage and support innovative projects in teaching and learning;
  • Encourage leadership and creativity in teachers and administrators;
  • Support grants that impact a significant number of students;
  • Support grants that have a lasting benefit to Arlington’s school system;
  • Encourage cross-school, cross-grade, and cross-curricular collaboration;
  • Encourage collaboration among teachers, administrators, and parents to benefit Arlington’s schools.

THE AEEF FUNDS THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF PROPOSALS:

  • Projects that supplement, but do not replace, existing educational programs;
  • Pilot programs;
  • Group and/or multi-school projects;
  • Program / curriculum development projects
  • Staff development activities
  • Programs that request initial funding, and are not dependent on AEEF for continuing costs
  • Teacher developed programs.

 Please note that the AEEF can not fund requests for standard classroom supplies or videos.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

  1. For this Snap Grant Cycle, the dollar amounts to be awarded are as follows:

$1,000          Arlington High School

$1,000          Ottoson Middle School

  $500           Each Elementary School

2.      The project must be completed within 18 months from the date of approval. A final evaluation of the project/program, as well as documentation of all expenses, is required.  At the end of 18 months, all unused monies will revert to the AEEF general fund.

3.      Please make 8 copies of your completed application and send them, along with your original, to AEEF, 350 Massachusetts Ave. Box 194, Arlington, MA, 02474.

4.      The completed application must be submitted by October 20, 2004.  Grants will be awarded by November 19, 2004.
